The most common of all baitfish.  All three Menhaden have a single black spot behind the gill and green-blue backs.  The Atlantic and Gulf species have additional spots on sides and brassy colored scales.  The Yellowfin's sides are dull silver.  A very oily fish.  All three species are used interchangeably.  One of the best Tarpon baits.  Excellent chum--either cut up or ground.
